Top 5 News Sources - Week 2
Although they may not be practical, my top 5 News sources would be CNN, NBC, FOX, Snapchat, and KITV.
NBC Logo, from Logok.
They are usually the most available to me, as I am usually on my phone a lot of the time and have apps downloaded, and then when I open Google for personal use or for classes, I tend to see some articles. When I am at school I can't watch the news, but when I am at home I try to tune into CNN. I consider CNN to have the more open-minded information and staff. I have to balance it out though, with NBC.
Growing up, I moved around a lot. I moved a total of 6 times; each time overseas. While a majority of the places still featured and premiered the larger networks such as FOX News, CNN, and NBC, there were a lot of minor and local news sources. For example every morning in Guam, I would watch KUAM with my dad while waking up early to go to school as he was going to work, and in Hawaii I would watch KITV after soccer practices. A lot of these local stations of course reflected on local occurrences and happenings, but also reflected and mentioned things on the more national and global level. Contrasting with the local, smaller news sources, larger corporations and national news tend to only focus on, of course, national news. It is almost nonexistent to find constant news on a smaller more specific place on national news, unless there is something that is always happening there such as Washington D.C.
In our Nation's Capitol, there is always mandates and laws being passed, either for the providence and area of Washington D.C. itself or the nation. This makes the area quite unique and I am grateful for being only about 40 minutes south in Maryland.
I keep a lot of these smaller and local news stations in mind because I believe it is important to remember that not everything is covered by these larger networks, and it brings me a sense of peace when I get to hear about the places I have lived.
